Kosmos: The Sky and the Stars from Antiquity to Galileo

Kosmos is a summary of the major exhibition, Galileo: Images of the Universe from Antiquity to the Telescope presented at Palazzo Strozzi, Florence in 2009 to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy. Kosmos also features exhibits of Machina Mundi: Images and Measurement of the Cosmos from Copernicus to Newton, a show designed for the European project WorldView Network which was displayed in six European countries between 2004 and 2006. Thanks to effective exhibits and illuminating videos, visitors are taken on a striking journey through the history of astronomy from ancient cosmogonic myths up to the threshold of modern science.
