Kosmos: The Sky and the Stars from Antiquity to Galileo

Kosmos is a summary of the major exhibition, Galileo: Images of the Universe from Antiquity to the Telescope presented at Palazzo Strozzi, Florence in 2009 to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy. Kosmos also features exhibits from Machina Mundi: Images and Measurement of the Cosmos from Copernicus to Newton, a show especially designed for the WorldView Network European Project which was displayed in six European countries between 2004 and 2006. Thanks to effective exhibits and illuminating videos, visitors are taken on a striking journey through the history of astronomy from ancient cosmogonic myths up to the threshold of modern science.
