Time of Nature: Cyclic Nature and Non-Reversibility of Natural Phenomena

This exhibition takes visitors through the time of nature – from ultra-long periods since the Earth was formed and life evolved to ultra-short periods of chemical reactions. It also presents the main concepts of time which have followed on from each other up to the present. Natural specimens from the Museo di Storia Naturale and ancient scientific instruments from the Museo di Storia della Scienza are displayed side-by-side in the part devoted to the measure of time. Animation movies and multimedia help visitors to better understand natural phenomena relevant to time, while interactive stations allow them to have a virtual experience of these phenomena. Two series of conferences dealt in depth with subjects which the exhibition outlined.
