A visit at Museo Galileo for the ICOM General Conference

On Friday, July 8, 2016 the Museo Galileo hosted 40 museum professionals and scholars from all over the world who were attending the 24th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (Milan, July 3-9, 2016). The Excursion Day, which was organized by the Museo Galileo, the University of Florence Natural History Museum and the Museo FirST–Firenze Scienza e Tecnica, had the title “Science in Florence from the Medici to Lorraine dynasties” and consisted of guided tours to the three historical scientific museums aiming at making Florence known not only as a world-renowned city for its monuments and art heritage, but also as a centre of excellence for scientific research and culture over the centuries.
