On March 28th 2012 Museo Galileo will open new interactive rooms on the museum's ground floor. Visitors will be able to independently interact with the innovative exhibits which will demonstrate the function of some of the instruments found in the historic collections. Starting from that date the museum's fees will change.

Opening hours

Reading Room: Monday through Friday 9.00 a.m.-4.30 p.m.; Saturdays: 9.00 a.m.-1.00 p.m.
Distribution: Monday through Friday 9.00 a.m.-1.00 p.m.; Saturdays: 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Access

Access to the reading room and collections is reserved to scholars in possession of an access pass.

The access pass is issued to:

  • professors and researchers in possession of a document attesting to their professional position
  • fellowship holders and doctorate students with certification from a university, the CNR or a similar institution
  • students and degree candidates with a letter of recommendation from their professor
  • collaborators of the Museo Galileo
  • scholars who do not fall within the above categories but can demonstrate a legitimate need to access the library collections for their research and studies
