1839 marks the birth of photography and the beginning of a close and complex connection between this new instrument and scientific practice. L’occhio della scienza, a project conceived by Museo Galileo and Museo della Grafica, aims to illustrate this major cultural and scientific turning point with two exhibitions running in Pisa and Florence from November 12, 2022 to February 26, 2023:
(The Eye of Science: A Century of Scientific Photography in Italy)
Pisa, Museo della Grafica
L’occhio della scienza: Giorgio Roster e Odoardo Beccari, esploratori di luoghi e immagini
(The Eye of Science: Giorgio Roster and Odoardo Beccari, explorers of places and images)
Firenze, Stibbert Museum
