Amerigo Vespucci at the Museum

On the occasion of the fifth centenary of Amerigo Vespucci’s death, this collection (only in Italian) offers a wide choice of documents, maps, sculptures, medals, and engravings from the Museo Galileo’s collections. All these items feature a new portrait of the Florentine explorer. No doubt that the most important evidence is Vespucci’s unpublished biography by Giovanni Fabbroni, who specially wrote it for the competition announced by the Etrurian Academy.
