On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Margherita Hack’s birth, Museo Galileo, University of Florence, INAF-Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri, and Municipality of Florence celebrated the Florentine astronomer with a two-day conference. Scientists, historians of the science and science popularizers discussed her life, which was devoted both to astrophysical research and science dissemination. Hack also lavished constant commitment to support civil rights, the liberty of thought, and public education.
