Museo "La Specola", Via Romana 17, Firenze

At 14.30 and 15.30 - Guided Visits to the Torrino

 

Museo Galileo, piazza dei Giudici 1, Firenze

At 16.00, 17.00 and 18.00 - free guided visits (in Italian) with operators dressed in epoch costumes. This theatrical performance is offered by the students of Liceo Scientifico Balducci, Pontassieve.

At 18.00 - concert by Piccolo Coro Melograno, kids choir from Florence.

From 19.00 to 20.00 - traditional Tuscan street food tasting will be offered.

The museum will be exceptionally open until 20.30.

Visitors will receive as gift a copy of the Edict of the Grand Duke for the reform of criminal law, containing the declaration of the "abolition of death penalty", dated November 30, 1786. Children will receive a copy of the booklet Pietro Leopoldo di Lorena. Un "Grande" Granduca.

All initiatives held in both museums are free and included in the entrance fee.
Thanks to the special promotion between Museo Galileo and "La Specola" museum, the zoological section of the University of Florence Natural History Museum, visitors who buy a full ticket in one of the two museums can access the other with a reduced fee.

From 10.00 to 17.00 - a theatrical and educational activity for Italian secondary schools by the Archivio Storico del Comune di Firenze: six animated lessons about Enlightened reformism in Tuscany.

A copy of the first sheet of the Edict, dated November 20, 1781, establishing the new Community of Florence will be given as a gift.
