Storia del dove. Alla ricerca dei confini del mondo
by Tommaso Maccacaro and Claudio M. Tartari
Bollati Boringhieri, 2017
Since humans began measuring the space around them, astonishment never ended. Every time in history we tried to take stock, something new happened and brought everything all up for discussion again. The space expanded, the “where” become larger and larger—not only in consequence of the Big Bang and the expansion of the universe. Our perception of the space has become more and more complicated, making the human beings smaller and plunged in a very huge “where.” The Authors lead readers through an amazing journey from the hazy space of a valley—such as the space perceived by Homo erectus—through most archaic cosmogonic myths and early systems of the universe until the thrilling astronomical discoveries of the Modern Age, which completely changed our concept of the world.
Speakers: the Authors and Paolo Tozzi (Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory).
The event will be held in Italian.
