The conference, organized on the occasion of the recent publication of two important volumes about Columbian and Vespucci studies - La sfida di Cristoforo Colombo (Cristoforo Colombo's Challenge) by Giorgio Bazzurro and the facsimile re-edition of the 1507 Universalis Cosmographiae by Martin Waldseemüller - represents a contribute to the investigation of particular themes regarding the history of navigation and cartography.
