On April 14, 2026, as part of the 2026 Biennale Tecnologia at the Politecnico di Torino, our curator Giorgio Strano gave a presentation on Athanasius Kircher’s Organum Mathematicum at the Historical Archives of the City of Turin.
The lecture highlighted the instrument's significance as an early example of technology capable of integrating diverse knowledge and supporting practical tasks. In this sense, the Organum Mathematicum connects directly to the themes of the Biennale Tecnologia, demonstrating how innovation arises from the interaction between various fields of knowledge, creativity, and concrete needs.
The Biennale Tecnologia of the Politecnico di Torino is a cultural event dedicated to reflecting on the relationship between technology, society, and the future, bringing together researchers, scholars, and the general public. It serves as an important forum for interdisciplinary discussion on technological change and its impact on various aspects of contemporary life.
