The Museo Galileo, in collaboration with the ICCD (Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation), has made available for consultation in the General Catalogue of Cultural Heritage a significant portion of the PST (Scientific and Technological Heritage) records relating to the scientific instruments preserved at our institution.

The published records relate to 77 objects from the Medici and Lorraine Collections, which are of particular historical and material significance.
The PST records, created in compliance with ICCD standards, provide an immediate reference tool for learning more about the history, functions, and characteristics of each object.
The publication is the result of extensive research and cataloguing work, still ongoing, which began in the 1980s, when the Museo Galileo helped define the cataloguing standard for historical and scientific assets. It also represents a fundamental step forward in the knowledge, enhancement, and dissemination of the museum's precious heritage.
