From October 15 to 16, the conference “Gli studi di Storia della scienza in Italia: attualità, tendenze e prospettive per l’insegnamento” (History of Science Studies in Italy: Current Trends and Perspectives for Teaching) will be held in Rome, organized by the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei at Palazzo Corsini.
The conference aims to promote the dissemination of scientific culture in Italy by analyzing the state of research and its teaching in both universities and schools.
The topics covered will be structured around three main thematic pillars. The first aims to outline a general overview of current areas, ongoing research, methodological approaches, and the international perspectives of the discipline. The second addresses the importance of the history of science in school curricula, exploring teaching strategies, public outreach initiatives, and the role of museums as living laboratories for generating new knowledge. Finally, the third series of presentations analyses the links between scientific thought and cultural history, tracing the evolution of ideas from antiquity to the modern era.
