The performances will be introduced by the composers and the concerts will be preceded by a talk by Dr Natacha Fabbri of Museo Galileo. The four topics chosen for the concerts - Cosmic Dialogues, Dancing Stars, From Florence to the Stars and Sound Machines - will illustrate the historical and philosophical context of the inspirational themes, focusing on the idea of astronomical travel, Leonardo da Vinci's sound machines and the path that led man to become an "inhabitant of the sky".
Throughout May, two instruments from the Museum's acoustics collection will also be on display: an extremely rare 17th-century "speaking trumpet" from the Medici collection and Thomas Edison's phonograph.

This series of concerts is part of the initiative Amico Museo 2022, which is promoted by Regione Toscana.
