Orbite Musicali 2024On Sunday, May 5, 12 and 19 at 11 a.m., Museo Galileo proposes, together with the Conservatorio Cherubini in Florence, the third review of Orbite musicali (Musical Orbits), which also marks the seventh year of collaboration between the two institutions.
Started in 2018 with a conference on Vincenzo Galilei, Galileo's father, the collaboration has continued with a series of meetings focused on the dialogue between scientific and musical instruments and a major project dedicated to the figure and work of Vincenzo Galilei.
In recent years, 20-year academic research on the relationship between science and music has resulted in projects aimed at popularizing and enhancing the museum's historical and scientific heritage, leading to the realization of a unique project in the international arena.
Orbite musicali allows the musical interpretation of Galileo's discoveries and pages, physical laws, and instruments from this museum's collection, addressing a wider audience and adopting a language other than that usually employed in a history of science museum. It allows Museo Galileo to “resonate” beyond its walls, to introduce concepts and works from the history of science within the shared experience of listening, and to transform the visit into a work of art, unrepeatable in its uniqueness.
