Scienza oltre le sbarre

Museo Galileo and Meyer Children’s hospital are collaborating again for young patients

Museo Galileo and the Meyer Children’s Hospital have signed an agreement that strengthens the long-standing relationship between the two institutions and provides free educational activities aimed at the hospital’s young patients, who will be able to learn about Galileo, the museum and the world of science.

The new agreement includes a series of activities designed to provide a fun time for children undergoing long and special therapies. Patients, guided by the operators, will have the opportunity to learn about the museum’s beautiful collection of ancient instruments and approach both science and the great scientists of the past in a play and fun way.

Since 2016 Museo Galileo has carried out various play-based science activities at the hospital's in-house halls, participated in open days at the hospital and hosted many children in need of therapy, offering them interactive and theatrical activities. During the Covid emergency, with the children’s hospital primary school, Museo Galileo offered online visits and activities: educational paths, customized to the age and interests of the pupils, ranging from puppet shows to the virtual visits of the museum’s halls with an exceptional guide, Galileo Galilei himself.
